We use conda-forge packages on RTD and every once in a while, conda-forge's GDAL dependencies are busted. I'll login and rebuild.

I fixed this in 558bddf5. I'm not sure how I lost track of the importance of putting conda-forge above defaults in the channels array.

@mraspaud thanks for the report! I think this is a bug, but it could be a complicated one, perhaps involving details of the JP2 drivers. In the meantime, the workaround...

@mraspaud there's a chance that the issue is specific to a particular JP2 driver. I'm not sure which one you're using, but I think there are at least 4 others...
