Opening this PR in order to run actions in an attempt to ultimately resolve #334.
Whoops, I didn't realize it will require approval to run workflows. I will PR in my fork to continue testing.
Hi @johnallen3d , thank you so much for the help! I think the CI running on ubuntu works. The key problem left is to make the release action pass, which builds wheel files on linux/windows/macos platforms (the error raised mentioned in #334). You can try to remove/comment the last upload part and try whether all other tasks work. Please let me know if you need any help from my side.
