RAM usage too high

Open bgdn-l opened this issue 1 month ago • 5 comments

Hi.

I am experiencing huge amounts of ram usage with Itsycal on my Macbook Pro M4 Pro, 48gb RAM, macos 26.1. Itsycal version 0.15.8.

Itsycal has access to all of my calendars, i do have lots of events set in my calendars - usually 5-15 per day if not more.

How can i fix this? I assume this is not the desired behaviour.

It's not the desired behavior. Unfortunately, I doubt this is something you can fix. Some other people have emailed me about this as well. Although I cannot reproduce it, it looks to me like a bug in the app. I've got a memory leak or some other issue. My calendar usage is pretty light. I think I will have to generate calendars with many events to try to reproduce this. My time is very limited now, but I am aware of this issue and will get to it as I can. Sorry I can't be of more help right now. Thanks for the report.

I could not reproduce this on my machine (macOS Sequoia), but with the help of another user and a Tahoe virtual machine I did. It appears to be a bug in Tahoe. I've taken a shot at a fix which you can try: https://itsycal.s3.us-east-1.amazonaws.com/Itsycal-0.15.8-tahoe-leak-2.zip
