Logitech G300s - Linux Mint cinnamon 22.1 on VMWare Player 17, undetected Mouse Button G4 to G9

Open DestoGit opened this issue 9 months ago • 2 comments

Hi, thanks for the program.

I tried getting buttons G4 to G9 of my Logitech G300s mouse to be detected but it fails. Only BTN_LEFT, BTN_MIDDLE and BTN_RIGHT are detected.

Here's my testing:

Any insight on how to detect the extra buttons G4 to G9?

Or any workaround to use with the available buttons names:

BTN_BACK BTN_EXTRA BTN_FORWARD BTN_MOUSE BTN_SIDE BTN_TASK

I have a Delux T9 gameboard, similar in use to a Razer Orbweaver/Tartarus, and on it there is a "mode" key that I cannot rebind. The only hard-coded use this key has is to change the center keys from WASD to function as the arrow keys Up-Left-Down-Right. Perhaps that mouses' buttons are hard coded, like my mode key example?

I also see you are using the Linux Mint install on a VM. I do not know if it will make a difference, but perhaps Input-Remapper will better detect the keys on a true installation of Linux Mint? Maybe those buttons are not getting recognized by Input-Remapper through the VM layer.

I am having the same issue. Got to investigate, will report back.

Edit G300 on Mint 22.1 XFCE

Edit 2 xev says no event when clicking buttons 5-9, not sure how to even approach this so I give up.
