Feature request - disable cooling

Open cjattard opened this issue 3 years ago • 6 comments

I would love to just use this plug in due to the unreliable nature of the tado homebridge support.

However my house has a mix of tado and nest and this plugin uses the "cooling" option when the temperature is above the target, can we have the option to disable "cooling" giving the same Green / orange / grey functionaliy without the blue mode?

i tried the easy mode in the config but that is a little too lite for my needs

thanks

+1 I would also like to not see my heating "Cooling" in HomeKit, as this doesn't make too much sense for a heater ;) So it would be very nice if that could be deactivated or disabled with any trick?

Thanks a lot for your hard work! @seydx

Especially if you have devices that actually can cool (air condition) in the same zone this leads to confusion. tado heaters can not cool per definition, so this does not have to be a config option but can be removed altogether.

+1 it is quite annoying seeing that in the home app. The native app integration is limited and very bad, but at least it does this right. If the heating is not heating, it shows the button temperature value in black, and when heating it shows in orange.

Another wrong behaviour is when the actual temperature is 0,1º above target, and Tado turns on the heating to prevent the actual temperature goes down beyond target, whether it will be shown as "heating" or also "cooling" (because it will have a target below the actual temperature). If I could attach a picture, I could show you a real screenshot from my home.

I think all the behaviour about heating status and actual/target temperature should be checked and updated. But as long as this thread has no answer since a long time ago... How could it be possible no more people is complaining about this?

In fact, I had my raspberry death since a long time ago, and I fixed today. I don't remember that this was the default behaviour last time I used it...

I loved this plugin because it provided you a lo of information and features that native one doesn't.
