Open josuedavidzero443 opened this issue 10 months ago • 4 comments

We trying to use Appium Client 4.5 and we get several issues with the TouchAction module, just to know if is planned to fix the compatibility with the latests Appium Client Version

Hello, is there a plan to implement the latest Appium Library Client rather than just suggest a downgrade?, thank you in advance

Several users thinks this must be a priority fix in https://github.com/serhatbolsu/robotframework-appiumlibrary/issues/435#issue-2427881580

Last week, version v5 was introduced. Contributors are preparing migration guidelines in the README. We can find more information on GitHub. It would be fantastic if someone could work on updating this library.

Is this library not supported anymore? Probably nobody take care about development

@eirenik0 The library is still active although, as demonstrated by my delayed response here, there is a need, a strong need if I may say so, to bring an active team made up of current users into the project. I have recognized this for some time and have made an effort to bring the community to that point. We have had some progress but have yet to hit that threshold were it is consistent and self maintained.

I welcome discussions with anyone interested although I'll will note the importance of consistency, active usage, strong desire to serve the community over one's own need, and the need to build that relationship to the community with active listening.

AppiumLibrary v3.0.0 will support selenium >=4.26.0 and Appium-Python-Client >= 5.1.1. It scheduled to be released tomorrow, Tuesday 29th July. There is a release candidate made available if anyone wants to test it out.

We believe this has been resolved with the latest releases. If you are still having a problem feel free to open a new issue.
