[Feature Request] Rearrange Survey Variables
It would be nice to be able to drag survey variables to rearrange. Adding new survey variables at a later date can leave them in a messy order. Sometimes I find myself deleting the whole task and recreating just so I can order them correctly on the form (which can be a pain if it's a task with a lot of input variables).
This would be a very useful feature, I also find myself deleting the input variables to reorder them as desired.
I've run into this exact scenario many times as projects and templates change over time. Just adding new variables to the end of the list doesn't make sense all the time, as they can be context specific. Being able to re-order the Survey Variables in a way so that it makes sense to the user of a task would be great to have. As it stands, I oftentimes have to delete some, add a few more, and then recreate the ones I deleted. It's very tedious and also prone to errors.
Hi @fiftin, I'm back at this again ... as in one of my jobs (and I have many like it), I need to add yet another variable. It's a variable tied to versioning and adding it to the end of the survey variables makes no sense for the end user, as the other version variables are at the top and do makes sense there contextually. I've already got 10 inputs with the new one, the 11th one, then being added to the end of the list, when logically it should be "grouped" with the other version variables at the top. I noticed this was tagged for milestone 2.16. Is that still the case? I kind of dread deleting all the variable inputs and recreating them, as this will need to trickle through a lot of jobs/templates. More than anything, I'm afraid I'll make a mistake and then have jobs/templates fail everywhere, which would then create a lot of additional work in cleaning things up. If I could simply re-order these variables in the list, the risk of me messing it up would be significantly lower. Thanks in advance.
