Support for other languages

We should decide if we want to support other environments as well in the future. Possible candidates:

  • Ruby
  • Elixir
  • Objective-C

As discussed, it would be nice to have a plugin system in place to enable support for other languages. Plugins are meant to be included at compile time, this means we need some sort of list which plugins are used. We do not load plugins dynamically at runtime.
