can't access token

does anyone have a simple fix for the token issue, I keep returning the ???????????? issue, even after connecting direct to the device and gaining the token that way. no joy!!

I know this is an old issue, but in case anyone encounters the same problem in 2022, the solution that worked for me was to get the token using Xiaomi-cloud-tokens-extractor and then enter it into homebridge-mi-air-purifier config as usual. For some reason this other project is more reliable at getting the tokens.
