Enhancement: Move Player pop-up to the background

Open Zenith-Nadir opened this issue 5 years ago • 3 comments

Not sure if this belongs here at radiobrowser or radiobrowser-api github project. I have noticed that while playing videos, the player pop-up is obscuring the video screen section. There is no way of moving video screen section or player pop-up, and the player pop-up really covers up and obscures especially smaller resolutions video screens, so they are not visible properly, they are covered up. Any way to set page up to be able to move video section around or player pop-up to the background? Thanks. Z-N

If you're interested, I've designed an alternate UI that places the player in the footer rather than a popup. It's running on my Raspberry Pi, mean't as a proof of concept, but it's there if you want it.

As an additional feature, it queries the stations to show you what is currently playing if the station supports it.

Hi @kyjus25 Yes, I have seen your site @ http://173.17.33.25:4200/ But, I am talking about video, and not audio, as for example search for: Das Erste Live TV or ORF 2 TV HD, both display videos (sometimes geo localized). Your site does NOT display videos, as it displays on alex's site. Your site interface needs improvements: one major obstacle for me is browsing stations by country, language, and not searching for something I do not know there might be (I am talking browsing not searching). So, it is missing in your site. Also, video player/displaying is missing. There are nice features, like displaying what is playing. There are some features alex's site could use to limit erroneous entries, like drop down options for countries, states, cities, languages. Well, I am not a developer or programmer, I just managed to install radio-browser server and front end from alex's github branch, migrated to nginx, and can edit, correct, and purge records on localhost site to my liking. I wish I knew some programming to improve current interface. However, if needed I would like to participate to extent of my skills and time. Thus and so, I am not here to criticize your site, whatsoever. Your frontend has great potential, as a matter of fact. I am here just asking devs for enhancements to their current site. Sincerely, Z-N

Thank you for your feedback!

Among other things, I have just updated my fork of the UI to also have the ability to play video. I wasn't aware the site was capable of doing that, so thank you!

I will also work on a "browse" area, like the current site has, to help you find what you're looking for.

Thanks!
