Keepalive

Hi everybody, I'm using ssf to tunnel an UDP application over a TCP tunnel. If my application doesn't generate any traffic for a while, the router/firewall shutdowns the TCP connection. Do you know if there is any option to enable a keepalive behavior? I have not found it.
