Active tab color
Just a little design suggestion - right now the tab "Updates" is yellow when a new version is downloadable. I would expect yellow to be the color for the currently active tab. Maybe indicate a new version with a little yellow dot in the tab?
Yo! Indeed, not happy with that either. There's an "unsaved document" flag in ImGUI that allows to add that kind of dot :
Sadly this also automagically creates a close button (even with Has Close Button set to false), which could lead users to accidentally close this tab, which is not what you want :)
I'll open a forum post and update this is issue.
Ok, so the tab wouldn't go away my EnsureValue suggestion. The only irritating thing would that the X button wouldn't have any effect.
Idea: when user clicks X we interpret this as "user acknowledges that there are updates, but wants to get rid of the notification". So gamma launcher would now store somewhere that notification "vvvv xy is available for download" was acknowledged, so that the dot only appears again when a newer version becomes available.
Yet another idea: close the tab when user clicks X. The tab stays closed as long as there is no newer version available. Menu comes with "Show Updates" menu entry if you want to get it back manually.
I would also like to chime in on this. it's fine that the updates tab i highlighted then there are new versions. but it is annoying that it doesn't go away when you install the latest updates, unless you restart the app.
