background events don't display correctly

In flat timelines, version 2.3.2. all background type events took all available height space. In 2.4.0., they adapt to the max-height of all present events. 2 4 0 2 3 2

This has to do with the groups functionality I added in one of the recent updates. Haven't quite found a solution to it yet but I am planning on fixing. Sorry - life's been very busy recently.
