Unable to encrypt or sign

I'm unable to encrypt or sign messages to myself or to others. I'm using a private key imported rather than created with the extension. I've added my public key and the public keys of others to the extension, but nothing happens when I click on Encrypt, Sign, or Encrypt and Sign other than those buttons becoming disabled. I'm on Linux Mint 17.2, Chrome 46.0.2490.86, and mymail-crypt 37
