We have fixed this issue in commit f323510. Thank you for reporting it.

Fixed in WinMerge 2.16.50 (now released). Closing.
WinMerge does not support variable-width fonts. These fonts may actually be fixed-width fonts, but Windows cannot recognize them as such.
"Automatically scroll to first difference" is not intended to work with manually pasted content. Instead, please try using the "File → Open Clipboard" menu, which uses clipboard history
I understand why you might expect "Automatically scroll to first difference" to work after pasting content from the clipboard. However, this option is currently only designed to work when loading...
I was unable to reproduce this issue. Does the second user have the "Add to context menu" checkbox checked?
