BERT Not showing up on Addins
Hi, I followed the installation instructions and I have Excel 2016 on windows 10. I ran the installer but Excel isn't showing anything in the Add-ins tab. It's all empty.
Did you check in other tabs ? Sometimes if you have other add-ins installed it will show up there (my experience at least.) Did you check if BERT was checked in the list in the COM Add-ins menu ?
I did and there isn't anything there to check. I don't currently have any addins. It's just Bert that I installed
Generally this is one of two things: either (1) it's installed in a privileged location, like c:\program files, which won't work; or (2) Excel has disabled it. In the latter case, if it's disabled it will be listed in the add-ins dialog (File > Options > Add-ins) under "disabled Items"; and if so, you can enable it by clicking Manage Disabled Items at the bottom.
I uninstalled Bert and reinstalled it under a non-privileged location. Before uninstalling Bert I went to File > Options > Add-ins and there wasn't anything listed under "Disabled Items"
After reinstalling it Bert showed up. So I am going to call it that it must have been installed in a privileged location. Also my spyware program must have stopped the installation as I must have walked away to allow the program to install and the spyware program will give a limited amount of time for me to allow a change to occur and that probably was the reason it didn't install correctly either.
Thanks again for your help!
I have a similar problem. I installed BERT and I can see it in Options > Add-in > COM Add ins, but location is empty. Then I try to manually inform the path, but it does not work. Any hint?
Hi fabiocs8, have you find any answer to the issue you've reported?
I have the same issue :'(
