Error: Can't load icon.
On a fresh install of both Windows 10, and the Virtual desktop enhancer, whenever it loads, or I reload the settings, a small box pops up with the following text:
virtual-desktop-enhancer.exe
Error: Can't load icon.
Specifically: icons/+.ico
Line # 521: Menu,Tray,Icon,icons/+ico
The current thread will exit.
and then an OK button, which when pressed kills the process...
Please make sure you have installed the latest release and followed the troubleshooting guide.
I've just encountered this on my first try as well (fresh Windows 10 Home x64, fresh install of virtual-desktop-enhancer.exe, first run: same error dialog).
Where is the "trouble shooting" guide? My searches aren't finding it. Is it the Known Issues page?
OK, I figured this out. TL;DR: you need everything in the zip, not just the *.exe.
When I saw the zip's contents, I thought it was the whole github project contents (I didn't look closely). When I read the Installation Instructions and they said "...you can run it just by executing virtual-desktop-enhancer.exe...", I assumed too much and though I could just move the *.exe to a separate folder (instead of leaving it in the Downloads subfolder).
After reading about changing the settings and realized I missed the settings.ini, and then looking at icon packs and realizing I left that folder behing, I then checked the libraries folder and realized I skipped dependencies.
So I moved the entire folder and restarted the program and now the error is gone and I presume everything will work fine.
I've re-read the instructions and nothing in there really suggested I needed only the *.exe, so that is on me.
I don't know if this is what is stopping @Callindril as well.
