What is this trend of releasing AI projects on GitHub without code? GitHub was designed for open source code to be shared. If you only use it as a marketing platform, you make yourself rather untrustworthy. You can make a lot of claims, but without evidence they remain claims.

Can't agree more. Recently, I saw many projects which just opened source "image". That is very disgusting and corrupting GitHub platform.

can you release the training dataset first?

Feynman1999 avatar Jan 05 '24 11:01 Feynman1999

Hi everyone, we apologize for the delay in releasing the code due to changes in our plans.

We truly appreciate your patience, but please understand that we have never viewed GitHub as a "marketing platform" (@headkit). Instead, we have always been committed to sharing our research work with the community to advance both research and industry. Most of our previous work has already been released, including all training and test code as well as datasets. Some featured code and datasets can be found here: https://shangchenzhou.com/code_datasets.html

In response to request by @Feynman1999 , we plan to first release the training dataset next week. And we will make the code public once this paper is accepted. This allow us time to further improve our code for better use. Please stay tuned!😊

Thank you all for your attention and understanding :-) Cheers!

@sczhou Really appreciate the great work you are doing. Especially codeformer is really awesome, almost magical.

Late but clean code is always better than early but spaghetti code. Thank you so much!

I'm eagerly anticipating the release, @sczhou! Your work consistently impresses me, and I'm grateful for your valuable contributions to the community.

Congratulations! It seems that the paper has been accepted by CVPR 2024, any timeline for the open-source of this amazing work? @sczhou

He mentioned " ... And we will make the code public once this paper is accepted ...", fyi, it has been a month since CVPR 2024 conference ended, and the final decision should have been made months before the conference, I guess.
