Metadata changed on server is not updated reliably in Les Pas
Describe the bug
I have a bunch of photos that initially had no exif metadata. I uploaded them to my Nextcloud with Les Pas and manually set the date taken in the Exif data correctly on the nextcloud server (using the memories extension). Now Les Pas sorts them wrong and says they were all taken a few days ago (the day i uploaded them) in the overview. But if i show the details of a photo it shows the correct Exif-date. Re-Syncing does not change a thing. If i download the photos and upload them again with Les Pas the dates are correct.
To Reproduce Steps to reproduce the behavior:
- Upload a photo without Meta-Data
- Edit Metadata on the server (eg using "Memories") -> Change date eg to last year
- Look at sorting in the album and little yellow date in the corner, it shows the date today
Expected behavior Dates in overview and in details match, edited metadata on the server is recognized with next sync.
Smartphone (please complete the following information):
- Device: Galaxy Tab S7 and Redmi Note 7
- OS: Android 13 (and 12)
- Version 2.8.0 (and 2.8.1)
I have difficulty recreate this bug on my side, here is what I have done:
- Update a photo's creation date tag in EXIF on server. I use
exiftool
rather than Memories though - Make sure the updated photo is synced back to Les Pas by re-launching the app
- Les Pas sorts the list correctly
Are you sure the photo got synced back? You can check sync status in Setting screen. When you check detail of a photo which belongs to a 'Remote' album, the EXIF information is actually downloaded from server.
I even installed Les Pas on a whole new device and got the wrong dates there, so i dont think the syncing is the problem. I might have some weird edge case there, but i have no idea how to find out why it happened for me.
