Closing since this works on the default theme since f052604. It may or may not change on the system theme depending on platform.
Frameless mode by default centers the image. I think this issue is resolved.

I can't reproduce on 3.19, can you try a newer version?
Only files with embedded thumbnails show here (3ba114c1). I assume this is to make startup faster. I think we should allow it, and load them in the background
It sounds like you are using frameless mode, if yes then this is a duplicate of #917
[d4e7ac9](https://github.com/nomacs/nomacs/commit/d4e7ac901a0243b55eaaabafb9d5e8ae979139fe) adds some logging for this, if you enable the logging panel it will show a warning message with some details which you can paste here.
