Tab closing instructions from Change Notes are successful - thanks!

I had tried to open an OPML file in Drummer, but used https instead of http as the URL, which created a problem in Drummer (it could not open the file). I was able to use the last set of instructions in the November 25 Change Notes entry (editing the class spCloseBox) to close the tab. Perhaps this will also provide a way for @PostMonsterG to close his tab on issue 119, I will add a pointer to this issue there.

Tab with no close button--

The November 25 Change Notes entry (editing the class spCloseBox) to close the tab just worked for me--editing the class trait, changing it from hidden to visible.

The earlier suggestion on that page, employing Close from the File menu, didn't work on this one. If another tab still existed, Drummer closed that one instead.

I didn't immediately notice the problem of the tab-with-no-close-button so I'm not sure what I did just before it happened.

I have encountered this issue today.

  • I'm using Drummer in Vivaldi on Mac.
  • I had Drummer open in a tab.
  • In another table, I used Daytona to search Scripting News for 'status'. Once the results came up, I highlighted an item and clicked the eye icon thinking that would take me to the archived post. Instead I got a new tab with the current home page of Scripting News.
  • From Scripting News, I clicked a link and was taken to http://littleoutliner.com/?url=http://instantoutliner.com/k5. I copied that url.
  • I clicked on the tab for my Drummer outline (so I could paste that link into my draft blog post).
  • Drummer immediately gave me the warning that Drummer was open in another tab. To my knowledge, only Daytona and that littleoutliner.com site were open. I closed both of those, opened a new tab and loaded Drummer.
  • Now I had a blank instant outline tab with Scripting News as the name and no X for closing.
  • Opening additional outlines and trying to close the blank outline closes the other outlines.
  • The console shows an error: Invalid XML

I'm trying to follow the instructions linked above to close, but not yet finding a way to right click on my MacBook. I'll report on this soon as I can.

Success: The instructions here worked and the empty tab is now gone.
