so u want to say that Fatrat code should be updated to get rid of the message ?

I'm saying reinstall TheFatRat, because after updating my FatRat after some changes @peterpt made, python-dev was no longer required it was replaced with python2

That is an old version of fatrat , you have to delete all your fatrat folders inside your system , i am pretty sure that you have 2 installations of it on different locations , while you think you are running the new one in fact it is the old one still running .

write in terminal : updatedb && locate fatrat

Then post here the output .

Remove all of them

$ rm -rf /home/kali/TheFatRat/fatrat

$ rm -rf /root/TheFatRat/fatrat

$ rm -f /usr/local/sbin/fatrat

Then reinstall TheFatRat if you haven't already solved this issue.

Then i have no idea because it's not doing this for me, for me it's showing python2 in chk_tools not python-dev, maybe @peterpt can help, any idea what's happening @peterpt? Would you recommend a new Kali install or have you faced this problem before???
