Not sure if this is the place - inquiry on capability

So im a new steamlink owner and am very very eager to get it properly streaming to my tv. Amazing work you've done here (im sure your aware!)

While im very tech savvy from a hardware perspective - software is more foreign to me on a low level.

So... with all that out of the way... I have had my roms organized as such for ages.

xxx/xxx/mediumtype (aka arcade/handheld/console)/finally specific system.

so i have downloads/emulation/games/handheld/psp for example

Best I can tell, ICE wants a path to to a roms folder with everything being seperated under that one specific folder.

Is it possible to add multiple directories or furthermore possible to have ICE search through multiple levels? Perhaps I could point it to the Games folder in the config file and when pointing it to the PSP folder in the handheld subdir, still have it find the roms?

The alternative is that I re arrange my entire rom collection which Id imagine many use something similar. Mine is sync'd between several pc's and dropbox so its a bit of a hassle butl likely no more than adding this capability if it doesnt already exist lol.

If I were to add another Directory= beneath the initial one in config.txt would it potentially scan both or?

Hope this all makes sense!

Is a Steam Link required for ICE, or can a normal PC use it to organize roms in Steam?

its required that you have a "normal" PC running as a host and you would run ICE on the host computer. Then the library of roms, emulators, and such will be organized and ready to use when you boot up steam link. The steam link will just mirror your ICE end product of organizing all your awesome roms.

@klepp0906 This issue has been addressed in other posts on this git and the developer has not worked on the program for years. I am trying to learn python to add that feature but dont bet on it.

@HEspoke Do you have any idea why ICE would force close every time I attempt to open it? The DOS prompt opens, but then closes before I can read anything..

@HEspoke

Thank u for the reply. Unsure what to do at this point then. Do other solutions for adding games to steam exist or is this it?

Wish I had time to learn python but I'm just now getting to learn HTML lol. Kids and a home in disrepair will do that to ya :p

@klepp0906 This program is the best one I have seen. Even without its ability to look for a game 2 folders deep its still the best worth using. There are other programs out there that will act like a launcher where you can run all your games from them like Launch Box. But I dont want to use a program like that because I want everything to be managed by Steam. Sorry this doesnt really help you much but until we can figure out how to look more then 2 folders deep for roms by changing code, we are kindof stuck.
