Does not support HTTP, network instability may lead to installation failure.

Can you please give more information? What does not support HTTP? Do you mean when install-tl-ubuntu installs from a mirror? Are you talking about the automatic repository detection or did you specify a repository manually with the --repository option?

The network is not good, may cause the user to install the progress of 99% and can not be installed successfully, the network is not really bad, let alone, the program will continue to re-install, whether you can consider no need to start from 0, but from the Once the installation progress begins to install, and can support the user to choose the installation source.

Thanks.

I'm not sure how to improve things. Do you have a patch in mind?

The best time to install the HTTP function to prevent the emergence of multiple installation failure, the user can select the repository, speed up the visit, I do not know whether to achieve?

I have no way, English basically do not understand, can only use translation software and Google translation.

Thank you for trying to explain. But I'm not sure how to achieve it.

@baidoufuxuchangqing do you think you will be able to make a patch for this in the future? With a patch I might understand more the problem. If not, I'm not sure what to do.

Save the user has downloaded the compressed file (installation file), waiting for the user to download all the files after the start of the installation, if the user network instability caused by the installation failed halfway, you can only download the file has not yet downloaded, do not need to re-download all the installation files. --google translate

Thank you for your persistence. I think I understand better. install-tl-ubuntu does restart the installation several times. And although it appears to start from the beginning, it doesn't (you should notice that the time is shorter each time). I think that install-tl needs to spend some time to check that the previously downloaded packages are indeed valid.

Other than that, I'm not sure how to improve things. If you have a patch that uses a feature of install-tl that I'm not familiar with, I would be interested in seeing it.

A better approach is probably to download the iso. You can easily resume downloading the iso (e.g. use wget and --continue). Once the iso is downloaded, you can use the "--iso" option of install-tl-ubuntu. Does that work?

I think this issue is related to #33.
