choose which thermal zones are shown [feature request]
For disk and network we can choose which devices to watch, for thermal there's only a global switch to show all zones. It would be nice if there was an option to either omit or only show specific zones.
Also, I can't see any rhyme to the ordering:
System A: tz2 tz0 tz9 tz1 tz7 tz1 tz5 tz3 tz1 tz1 tz8 tz1 tz6 tz4
System B: tz2 tz0 tz9 tz7 tz5 tz3 tz1 tz8 tz6 tz4
I don't have a system that works with thermal but it seems like it should be an easy fix.
- Sort the thermal zones alphabetically
- Allow filtering via an environment variable
We read an env variable for the Freespace.
Pull-requests welcome.
@scottchiefbaker Thank you for your reply and for offering a reasonably easy path to implement my feature request! Right now I don't have the time to try to acquire and apply the necessary python skills to try to implement the suggestion myself. When that changes I'll report back here.
I'm happy to work with you on this if you want to help/learn. Without the requisite hardware it would be hard for me to implement any new code.
Thank you for the offer! I'm certainly willing to test new versions on my machine. My current daily driver laptop is a Lenovo P16 Gen1 running Manjaro Linux (=arch based). A few weeks ago I've already switched from the Manjaro repository dool version to the dool-git AUR package because of this issue so testing any changes should be as easy as rebuilding that.
