I think this can be closed as this was fixed in commit # [0c7390d](https://github.com/srvrco/getssl/commit/13be6817b375c36e50ae5b03a5e3723da0c7390d) to remove the SOA flag.

Allow background feed checking to be disabled

I disabled it and submitted a pull request until it can get a real user preference. I really dislike that feature.
