Issues with Molecular

Open Aviestudio opened this issue 1 year ago • 1 comments

I installed the Molecular today to prevent my particles to collide into each other but I have encountered some issues while testing it out.

blender issue

  1. I can't press any of the buttons to Bake or to free all the bakes.
  2. Even though I activated the self-collision, it's still the same as when I hadn't pressed it. It is not working.
  3. My playback is super slow, even though the rendering FPS is set to 24. After playing the whole thing, it is still slow.
  4. Sometimes I get an error message in Blender. error message

For my specs, I am using a Macbook Pro Apple M2 Max so I should not have any issues rendering such simple system. And I installed the add-on as per the instruction.

Hello,

  1. Please see this https://github.com/scorpion81/Blender-Molecular-Script/issues/18#issuecomment-2585647304
  2. Hmm... that i would need to investigate... could you share your blend file, or if not possible... a smaller blend file which can show that issue reproducibly ?
  3. During simulation, the frame number is being multiplied with a substep count, that means the simulation will run longer than it will write data for... aka it should be "frames * substep". Afterwards it will have data for "frames". This seems to be necessary by design and was implemented by the original author of Molecular.
  4. That one is really weird... not sure why grease_pencil should interfere here... hmmm
