Thanks for creating this game, it's really great.

My feedback: I wish there was some logical way to make the game longer. Like, hostiles are starting to attack every other second after some time and it seems impossible to me to survive that. Even the browser starts lagging because of so many particles :)
Anyway, this is a very good game for something below 13k 💯 👏
Glad you enjoyed the game! yeah balancing was an issue but as we were adding more stuff and polishing what we had we quickly hit the 13kb limit and couldn't do much more so we had to submit the game as is. On another note we are planning on building up on Exo and make it a full game!
Nice to hear that! Because, IMHO, this game has a potential to become even more addictive and more complete :)
This game is very good :) I have serious lag at wave 35 and my browser was blocked at wave 45 (laptop) I play during 5 hours and it was cool :) My favorite weapon is beam (good range, too much ?) Suggestion : possibility to destroy building (collector and weapon)
Thanks, @JereMiO Yes, the game starts to struggle at those wave levels. TBH, we never expected people to play it for that long, being for the scope of a jam, and it wasn't really tested that far! The issues causing it, other than the obvious thousands of sprites :P, have been pinpointed and will be worked out eventually. There's a few changes to the game shown on my Twitter if you're interested. :)
The game is great, thanks! I've build a system that has survived after 248 waves with base status 100% and increasing energy level)

And it definitely could survive much longer if I'd have more patience — each wave takes about 75 seconds to be computed — the game requires me to do either — to buy a super computer or to take a look into source to try to increase FPS)
thats pretty insane, with our current plan for the game we wont have such massive battles (maybe) on top of obviously optimizing it.

As @scorp200 says, our plan currently is to limit things a bit more. There'll be a lot less areas you can build towers (and none at all around the sun!). But, you'll be able to do more with those towers, such as upgrading them to deal more damage and have more range, etc. As for the waves, I've changed them to spawn in squadrons, which should allow potential for AI tactics so we can move away from sheer numbers. Regarding sheer numbers, though we're pulling back a bit on that right now, changes are being made to port to WebGL so hopefully we can bring back the crazy at that point (sprite batching!!) And as well as all that, if you see my Twitter you'll see the brand new galaxy campaign/empire map coming along! :)
