new submission type "article"

Have you thought about a more general "article" submission type, where the user could write something about scientific Python, like discuss, give several options, etc.? The "code snippet" type is very specific (which is good), but a more general "article" type would allow users to write texts which otherwise would go in e.g. a blog.

What if we combine the "link" submission with this article type? (Just to prevent too many submission options and then user's are not 100% sure which submission type to use)

An article submission would then be a link submission, with the hyperlink left out.

Yes, that's reasonable.

I would rename the type from "link" to something else then (cannot think of a good name, though). Problem is I wouldn't look in "Article" when I want to post a link ...

@andreas-h I think we have to rethink about what kind of submissions could be done. Snippets, packages, links (and or articles), IPython Notebooks. We must come to a proper design now.
