Add FAQ (Frequenty Asked Questions) section
Common questions heard (add to this list as you hear them!):
- What's the difference between Scientific Python and NumFOCUS
- Same with PyData. Basically a state of the whole ecosystem.
Unfortunately I can't edit the comment, so I'll have to add bubble:
- What's the difference between scipy, scipy, and scipy (/s). In other words, the classic question about the distinction between scipy the library, scipy the conference(s), and the oft-abbreviated "scipy ecosystem" and the relative relationship between them. At some point I believe there was a blurb on the scipy site (or maybe the docs) that explained the distinction, but I couldn't find it just now.
We have some text here http://scipy.org/community
But yes the full history is yet to be written somewhere.
With NumFOCUS in charge of the conf, I just hope for a rebranding to simplify things for everyone.
We used to have text about all the scipy meanings:
https://new.scipy.org/about.html
But we are trying to make scipy be more about the library and use Scientific Python to cover the ecosystem and community now. If there is a discussion of the term scipy, it probably makes sense to do that on scipy.org. Here, I think, we should focus on what Scientific Python means.
I can definitely work on this but I wonder if this should be short videos or just written text. I have other couple of questions related to 'technical stuff' and I think we can have several categories for these questions. I'm thinking something like this (if we go for the written stuff): https://docs.spyder-ide.org/current/faq.html
