generalise relative dates

I found it a bit annoying that the relative dates were updating every second! YMMV of course.

Possibly there's a way to tweak the resolution of Text.DateStyle, but I didn't see one, so switched to a formatter. Put it into AppModel so that it could potentially be a setting.

There's a more concise way of doing this surely? Also I like the dates right now ;-) I'd be happy taking a PR that made it a user option though.
