Does not build on Mac

I have tried to build the open source version on a Mac and hav failed. The build finishes with no warnings or errors and when I start from the command line, no warnings or errors are received. However the menu does not work, this means that none of the menus show when the mouse is over them and the mouse button is clicked. The buttons on the main window seem to work, however opening files using the menu is not possible with this build. Any suggestions welcome.

You dont' even mention which version of "Mac" (osx? which one? bigsur?) nor the architecture intel? M1 ? What python version ? What framework was used? brew? macports? source build? ...

If you’re using a Silicon Mac, have you enabled Rosetta translation for PyMOL?
