Shouldn't change the light system font
This app changes the system's regular, light, and bold fonts to Lucida. However, replacing all three may not be a good idea. For example, OS X's Calendar dock icon uses the light system font. It looks weird when changed to Lucida. How about changing just the regular and bold, or at least creating an option of which system fonts to replace?
Dr Schreiberstein,
Speaking for myself about the request below from md100, I am thrilled with your solution just the way it is and would be reluctant to see ANY changes to it unless there would options to keep it just the way your solution works now.
For me, I could less care less what the dock icons look like - to me they are just trimmings. What I care about is reading text in the menubar, in the dropdown menus and in applications. Before your solution, I was straining to see and read anything in this wretched Yosemite, and after your solution I can see and read almost everything without eyestrain! I would hate to go backward!
If you are interested in further tinkering, maybe you could come up with a fix for the tiny, grey text, set on a white background, in the app reviews in the App Store - it is a great struggle to read the customer reviews! (Since many are negative, maybe Apple doesn’t want us to be able to read them! :-) )
Thanks again for your wonderful solution!
Best wishes, Nate

@mdl00 To my knowledge, the 'oldstable' version 1.2 should do exactly that, as it doesn't implement any new font-weights. Perhaps I could include both methods side-by-side. Thank you for your feedback! :+1:
@Thannah To not bear false witness: I certainly don't have a PhD. Thank you for your feedback as well. I personally also like the patch the way it is, yet I am also open to new suggestions. I too noticed some issues in certain apps, but I guess it's not (easily) possible to fix them at the moment. Glad we were able to help you!
