Truncated Text Overlaps

It seems that applications with tabbed browsing do not like Lucida Grande: screen shot 2015-10-03 at 9 05 26 am

Hopefully this is something that is fixable.

EDIT: Here's another instance of the issue, this time in the status bar (notice the "new tab" text at the end especially): screen shot 2015-10-03 at 2 22 47 pm

It seems to me like a font weight might have been incorrectly mapped, because the spacing just seems a bit off, but I will defer to the experts. That would actually be good because that means it can be fixed.

We are definitely aware of the issue and is trying to locate the cause of this issue. For now, a temporary fix would be using another browser, such as Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox.

On a totally unrelated note, it's great to see someone mapping classic Aqua window control widgets onto El Capitan? Did you make your own modification in ThemeEngine? It would be awesome to complete that modification - such as gradients colors for window chromes?

Glad to hear!

As for the Aqua elements, I am a developer for an application called XRevert, which changes many visual elements back to the way they looked in older OS X versions. That includes some modifications using ThemeEngine. I'd love to add window gradients and we plan to, but if you happened to have a .car with it and would be willing to share it, that might speed things up.

That's awesome! I'll definitely check it out sometime!

I don't have a good modified .car file though. The problem is that Mavericks' window chrome contains texture, where the one in El Capitan is just a plain gradient without textures. :(

This issue occurs not in tabs only - I saw the same problem in Finder showing files with a long filenames - crash reports e.g.

Yeah, it seems to occur any place that some text gets truncated.

Not to be too pushy, but are there any updates on this problem? As has been previously stated, this problem is not confined to Safari Browser tabs--it occurs all over El Capitan's UI.

Man, at first i was delighted, but then i saw the kerning issues. I hope the developer fix it, SF is a deal breaker for me because it really looks bad on a non retina display. fingers crossed.

Guys - same problem on microsoft outlook.

Overtime that text should be cut, it is squeezed into a small area instead. This makes it totally useless unfortunately.

I am sorry, but apparently there is no way for us to fix it at the moment.

:/

So curious, do you know what's actually causing the problem here?
