cycle breaks when you manually change focus/break + no automatic idle reset

Open eneda8 opened this issue 3 years ago • 0 comments

if you wound up taking a long break early (with the timer paused), and then want to manually change a later break (1 or 2 tomatoes later) to a "short break", it doesn't adjust, throwing off the rest of the cycle.

ALSO, if you start a cycle then next day or many hours later, it doesn't automatically "reset" to a new pomodoro cycle, but instead picks up where you left off. if i was one tomato from a long break 12 hours ago, it will prompt me to start a long break now, after only 1 tomato of work, instead of a short break. if i then manually select "short break", due to the above issue, it does NOT adjust. so then you have to complete the tomato, manually select the proper break, then manually restart the cycle. if you go a couple tomatoes before doing this, (because you're working, not focusing on tomatoes), you wind up doing too many tomatoes before you get a long break.

suggestions:

  1. adjust the cycle after manual focus/break changes
  2. have the option to automatically restart the cycle after a period of inactivity
  3. in the history, show (1) where you currently are in the cycle and (2) # of tomatoes completed in the current session (right now, you can only see tomatoes completed in the "notification" tab and history shows the tomatoes completed TODAY only, i.e. it resets at midnight
  4. hovering over the tomato in-browser should show you how many tomatoes left until next long break (where you are in the current cycle)
