Error: TypeError: Cannot read property 'enumeratedDevices' of undefined

I am using the instascan library in my Laravel application. When I want to use the script I get an error: TypeError: Cannot read property 'enumeratedDevices' of undefined

I am using my tablet with the most recent version of chrome installed. I am testing locally so could it have to do with https? If so then how am I suppose to test my code?

I cant remember if I solved this. I don't work with Laravel anymore.
