Windows not properly displayed in Win95 when calling a .bat from the start menu
Windows 95 fails to properly display widows when the start menu runs a bat on an image in drive A.
The bat executed from A is something like:
rem @echo off
echo "Loading game ..."
start "D:\mygame.exe"
It's like the bat is executed before windows properly boots up and start all of its window-control services. The same win95 image and bat runs ok in Dosbox-X on the same platform, so it is not an issue with drivers or windows installation, using S3 graphics with any resolution and color depth. Also, when the bat is not used, windows properly bootsup, so it has to do with calling it from the start menu. And if the same process is used with a Win98 image, it works ok.
It seems executing the commandline in Windows95, breaks proper rendering in Pure
I've tried fresh installs, with many versions of Win95, and it still happens. It seems that running the commandline is the source of the issue.
Hi, any idea why this could be happening?

Any clue on why this could be happening @schellingb ?
As far as I can tell, showing the DOS command line inside a multi tasking operating system like Windows 9x just doesn't work well with the emulation as done by DOSBox.
I see. It works ok when emulating Windows 98
