Suggestion to fix the save system, as saves are occasionally recreated without any notification

After mounting win98.img and running Might and Magic VI.doz, if I perform various actions on the operating system, such as changing the desktop color, creating shortcuts, modifying the resolution, and so on, there is a high chance that a new Might and Magic VI-896F6745.sav will be created. This happens even if I properly shut down win98 after making changes. Additionally, even if I properly close the game and shut down win98, the Might and Magic VI-896F6745.sav (with the last 8 digits changing) will occasionally be recreated. However, the Might and Magic VI-CDRIVE.sav remains unaffected. This issue causes anxiety while playing, because if the save is recreated, the previous progress is lost, and there is no way to recover it. I wonder if it would be possible to make Might and Magic VI-896F6745.sav behave like Might and Magic VI-CDRIVE.sav, because the latter is stable and almost never encounters issues. Even when errors occur, it does not result in a new save being created, which prevents losing progress. I hope the developers can look into this issue.
