Carmageddon 2 corrupted patched files and savegame after session restart

Hi there!

i'd like to address a huge gamebreaker issue i encounter playing Carmageddon 2.

• I install Carmageddon 2 US Version from an original Disc image
• Game techically runs without issues in 3DFX mode (however performance is bad since not patched yet)
• then i apply/copy/overwrite the US patch from a custom ISO
• i switch back to the Carma Disc
• works great with the patch... generate Savegames while playing (Autosave)
• then i shutdown Windows / end the Session
• Back on the rebooted Windows/Session i want to start Carma
• ...nothing happens after the Launcher selection..Mousecursor stays as Sandclock for a second... CPU Fans goes up...nothing happens on the screen
• then i apply/overwrite the patch files again
• now the game starts again/but no Savegames to load
• after the next full session reboot the issues is still the same.... game wont load until i patch it again etc.

so far i've found no solution for that myself
