Hi there, if i type: kal -s GSM900 it gaves me the Output: kal: Scanning for GSM-900 base stations. After a while it closes itself and went back to root Terminal. Hackrf is fully installed and Gnuradio8 works fine. But what is up with kalibrate? Even my IMSI-catcher gives me no Output... What can i do now?

It could be due to poor signal reception. To make progress you have to find more information:

  • Run with verbose option.
  • Check other GSM bands that are in use around you.
  • Use a proper antenna
  • place your receiver in the best receiving location posible.
  • You can check GSM antenna your iPhone is connected to by using a debug call code like *3001#12345#*
  • There are several online databases available and mobile apps to find the nearby stations C0E19F81-3E4C-4038-9744-91ABB11F7DBA
  • Run first fm_tuner over the desired known frequency, as it is much more error tolerant than kal.

Good luck
