Maybe we could use https://github.com/niklasvh/html2canvas to screenshot the scalebars and then overlay these with the other screenshots. Alternatively, I only see the option of rendering the scalebar with webGL but I'm not sure whether we really want that..

There already is an option to "Show Scalebars" which could be toggled before screenshotting. Maybe there doesn't need to be an additional setting?
