Quasar 0.9.78 with Kodi 17.6 not starting (Windows Server 2016 x64)

Current Behavior

Quasar crashes on Kodi start

Steps to Reproduce (for bugs)

  1. Open Kodi
  2. Quasar can't start, tries to restart
  3. Fails three times, then stops

Your Environment

  • Version used: 0.9.78
  • Environment name and version:
  • Operating System and version: Windows Server 2016 x64, Kodi 17.6, fresh install

It doesn't start on ARM v7 osmc kodi 17.6 either.

Same problem here: Raspberry Pi 3 with OSMC 01/2018 (Debian Stretch) and Quasar v0.9.78 ARM v7

Deamon crash at startup with error notification: "Can't found Quasar application"

I'm getting the same problem on OSMC after latest upgrade to Kodi 17.6. As a workaround I ran the binary manually from console and Kodi UI works fine after that.

I think this is a duplicate of #918. There's also a quick fix provided.
