Kills Spotify when hovering

Open DeeGeeMan opened this issue 4 months ago • 7 comments

If I move my mouse over the Spotify window on macOS v15.6.1, AutoRaise kills the application. However if I hold the control key while hovering, it dose kill the app until I let go.

Note: setting ignore apps dosen't either (see image)

AutoRaise doesn't kill Spotify because it hasn't got the permissions to do so. What happens instead is that AutoRaise is revealing a bug in Spotify which seems to trigger when one of its (sub)windows is focused in an unforeseen way.

Yes, it's not killing the process, but it causes Spotify to crash every time.

@DeeGeeMan

I think your solution to add it to the ignore list until this is fixed is a good one. You may consider filing a bug report to the Spotify developers. It might be difficult to get their attention but maybe they are open to suggestions.

@sbmpost, doesn't work when add it to the ignore list (see the original screenshot above).

@DeeGeeMan

In that case you might want to start AutoRaise from the commandline with verbose flag enabled (see the README). It will show you the exact App or window name. I suspect it is not ignoring Spotify because the name is slightly different under the hood.
