How can I manage a phpbbgallery of more than 5,000 files?

Good evening,

I finally updated my website from phpBB 3.0 to 3.2 this week. The host is OVH, which has a huge market share in France. I had to notice that OVH limits the number of files per directory to 5,000 files. But phpBB has a huge success on my site and there are more than 9,000 files in the gallery.

The first issue is that get the missing files back and of course I need to check this with OVH itself.

My second issue is to be prepared for the future as I need to put more than 4,000 files somewhere. So, is there a possibility to put the images in more than 1 directory? At present the files are in /phpbbroot/files/phpbbgallery/core/source

Good afternoon,

small update on that issue : webhosting services of OVH do not limit the number of files per directory. All files are visible as long as one connects through SFTP (what I did not know when I opened that issue). It is only with a connection through FTP that only 5,000 files are visible. So, there was, at first, no problem with phpbbgallery itself. But still, managing 9,000 files in a single directory is not easy.
