Assuming you know how to use arch user repository, you can easily install ibus-avro using yaourt. At first install it, if you don't have it installed already. sudo pacman -S yaourt after that install ibus-avro by using this command: yaourt -S ibus-avro-git

I've installed ibus-avro-git using yaourt in manjaro. But still I can't type bangla! The icon was there and I can change the input to avro

@AnwarShah what desktop environment?

Mazino-Urek avatar Jul 27 '17 17:07 Mazino-Urek

@now-im I've tested on xfce, deepin and gnome3. I don't think DE is responsible for this

In deepin you need to click the icon and select bangla manually. Hot key doesn't work there. I have tasted it yesterday on deepin and today and on KDE. Works fine. It is probably not the solution but try this: sudo nano ~/.xinitrc Then paste following commands:

export GTK_IM_MODULE=ibus
export XMODIFIERS=@im=ibus
export QT_IM_MODULE=ibus

@now-im It didn't work. I used that before in .profile and now again with .xinitrc. Same. I can select bengali, but can't type
