Place Images working incorrectly with .jpg?

Tried using the Place images script with some files that were jpgs and they all got a large amount of white area around them for some reason, even though the page size and image size were exactly the same. I did not have this problem with .png files. See image attached for "bug", the blue outline shows where the image was placed, (even though I selected top-left as well)
