The issue detailed in #69, which is having scroll and zoom functionality working together looks like it's easy to implement in javafx with this SO question.

Sure! Thank you for your interest! I’ve been working sporadically on the GUI on the hierarchical-nets branch — I’ve only barely gotten going, so there’s a lot of work to be. A more focused project would be to work on porting some of the analysis modules from the old 4.3 code to 5.x.

At some point we could have a Skype conversation about your interests, and I could help get you going.
