Import data from Previous Version

Open NondescreptUser opened this issue 8 years ago • 10 comments

It would be convenient to be able to import data from the provious version - especially the custom rules that I've spent time and effort to get right. I don't really want to start all over again.

For now I want to make sure this new extension can replace the old one. Please give it a try in different pages and let me know if it has issues with form filling.

Before the old one gets deprecated, we will have the importing feature implemented.

@parsibox

What is your Firefox version? If you right click over a text box there should be a context menu. screen shot 2016-12-20 at 12 20 25

These items are moved to the toolbar panel. Just fill whatever you want and press "Extract Rules", then press "Update/Create Profile" to update the currently selected profile or create a new profile from your data.

For me, the old one never did automatically fill in forms, so that's not how I ever used it. I can't speak for the others, but I can't compare how it works filling forms, because I never used it that way, nor would I want to use the new version that way. I would only want to use it using the right-click menu, as in your illustration above. Sorry I can't help with this. I'm glad to hear you're planning on an import tool.

See also #46 for possible duplicate, importing from old version save should be feature number 1 on a backlog
