I was observing no mining on 1.6.3 from time to time. It was some issue with wifi. I recommend to check if AP of miner is not active.

I would try wiping the whole flash (maybe with esp tool) and using 1.6.3 or newer FW and configuring all from scratch. Maybe before doing this you can check debug...
