Y24-409 - Addition of HumFre Codes to manifests

Open Stan1520 opened this issue 4 months ago • 0 comments

Context and Description The development of this requirement is to allow input of accurate HumFre information at sample level, not just at study level. This is a Direct request from the programme (CASM), and also discussed with the LeGo team.

The Humfre code should be a free text field on the manifest, to be visible when viewing the individual samples and the information should be carried across to each sample iteration. The Humfre code needs to be associated with all samples and studies to maintain traceability and meet governance requirements.

User story As a user working with human samples on Sequencescape, I want to be able to capture and trace the Humfre code at both the study level and individual sample level within the manifests so that ethical compliance can be ensured throughout the lifecycle of the sample.

Who are the primary contacts for this story Elizabeth Cook Nathalie Smerdon

Value

  • Improved traceability: Tracking the samples more accurately through all stages, will help ensure that ethical requirements are met for each sample, not just the study as a whole.
  • Operational Efficiency: By automating the inclusion of the Humfre code in manifests across study and sample level, the process will become more streamlined, reducing chance for manual errors.
  • Compliance with Ethical and Legal Requirements: Including the Humfre code in the manifests will allow identification of individual samples for retention/destruction/return and ensure these cannot be processed when a HumFre expires.

Acceptance criteria To be considered successful the solution must allow:

  • [ ] A new column for the Humfre code is added to all manifest types.
  • [ ] The Humfre code field is a free text input and visible when individual samples are clicked.
  • [ ] If the field is filled in the manifest, this HumFre is associated with the sample in Sequencescape - This means that if the HumFre code field is completed in the manifest, the system should recognize and attach the HumFre code to the sample throughout its lifecycle in the system, ensuring traceability.
